Participants and data origin

The GIN project has facilitated close cooperation and data sharing among the federal offices, cantons and private companies. This is a unique form of cooperation.

Participating federal offices

Several federal offices participate in GIN and contribute their data to the platform:

• Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss)
• WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF)
• Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) 
• Swiss Seismological Service (SED) 

Other private and public participants

Additional partners also provide data to GIN:

• Cantons and municipalities
• Private weather services
• Foreign monitoring stations located within 150 km of the Swiss border            

The GIN Secretariat is responsible for operating and developing the platform.
